Activities
Australia Week (Melbourne)
The students were able to get a glimpse of what live would have been like for Captain James Cook and the house that he grew up in. They had lot’s of fun dressing up in traditional costumes and walking around the vegetable garden filled with plants and herbs typical of that time. It’s a fascinating little home and has a very special feel about it, like travelling back in time. It’s definitely something worth seeing when you are in Melbourne.
African American Gospel with Andrew
Join “the second most popular teacher in ABILITY” Andrew on 7th of August (7pm) at Cafe of the Gate of Salvation. The African American Gospel sounds promising. When the choir takes to the stage under the dynamic musical direction of Dynes Austin, ears ring, hearts sing and spirits soar!
Melbourne Ability Op Shop Scavenger Hunt!
Last week was Fashion week at Ability Melbourne. Students from all levels discussed everything from Fads and Faux Pas to prints and fabrics. What better way to end the week then a good old SHOP!! So we decided to organise a scavenger hunt! Students were put into teams of different levels.
Culture Day 2010 – Melbourne
On the 24th of June, Ability Education had its first ever Culture Day in Melbourne and it was a huge success! Students came in from 9am and worked hard to prepare their decorations and food, then waited for the judges, Nicola and Aaron, to come around and judge each room. After all that work, the students were free to go and try each other’s food, learn about each other’s cultures and listen to all the different kinds of music.
Culture Day, Blasts into Ability!
Culture Day! This event only happens once a year at Ability Education, but its magic is long lasting as people make real friends in Australia from so many different countries, trying new exotic food and bridging the cultures closer together. Students get a glimpse of something new and maybe, exciting. For example, the dance Salsa is called salsa because it is hot and spicy like the sauce you eat!
Ability Education Unites the World on One BIG Day
How are you all? Well, here in rainy Sydney we are going to bring in some ray of light on the 17th June. Gathered in our hub at Central Campus from morning til the afternoon each room on level 4 will be converted magically to a far, far place. Actually, the rooms will be decorated to represent the 30 plus countries we have attending our multi-cultural school.
Christmas Time at Ability Education
Last years Christmas Party took place at our beloved establishment Side Bar, had over 400 students attending, generous lucky door prizes including Playstations and shaking beats so the pressure was on for me to make an even bigger and better party. So, what was the verdict on this year’s party? Well, if all the whispers on and off campus are to be believed it royally kicked some butt!
Ability’s Got Talent
ABILITY certainly has talent! The level of the performances was brilliant – and some just plain funny. In our student body we have a Chinese gold medallist who did an amazing floor show, a famous Thai pop singer and a famous Thai soap star too!
Culture Day Explosion
This year the Culture Day celebration at Ability Education rocked! Not only can our magnificent students speak English but they can: cook all kinds of delicacies, dance many kinds of dances, play the guitar in tune, sing lullabies, paint, make origami, act, and lastly, they can clean too!!! Absolutely amazing!
