IELTS Preparation Course description

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally recognised exam.

This test is ideal if you need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS scores are recognised by universities and colleges, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies.

Past results

In the last 6 years ABILITY has prepared more than 500 students for the IELTS exam. In 2009, ABILITY students who took the IELTS exam received an average overall score of 7.0. Many of these have gone on to post-graduate study at university in Australia. Some students even achieved a 9 in Individual skill tests.

There are several reasons for this success:

  • IELTS trained teachers who are passionate and dedicated
  • Individual work programs prepared for students for extra-curricular study
  • Well designed curriculum
  • Focus on communicative skill
  • Great learning environment

Course structure

We have 2 IELTS courses:

  • 23 hour day course Monday to Friday
  • 20 hour evening course Monday to Friday (4 hours of face to face teaching a day)

The focus in our courses is on reading and writing skills during lesson 1 and 2, and listening and speaking in lesson 3. Students also practice grammar and pronunciation each week. Although students have the option of taking either the general or the academic IELTS test, our course has both a general and an academic focus.

Weekly IELTS Practice Test

At ABILITY Education we believe that “practice makes perfect”, which is why we have weekly IELTS Practice Tests on Fridays. This is a wonderful way to improve your skills, so that when you do the real IELTS Exam, you will feel confident and prepared. The practice exam simulates a real IELTS exam. It consists of a writing, reading and listening module (skills for the speaking module are taught during the week). All the exams are marked and given back at the end of the day and feedback is also given on how to improve your performance. With ABILITY Education’s IELTS Preparation Course you can achieve your goals.
