Primary School Preparation (PSP)

We have recently introduced a 12 week Primary School Preparation course focuses on students aged between 8 to 11 year olds. The course structure involves intensive English as well subjects that are taught in Australian primary school. As in HSP our college aims for the students to be taught in a genuinely caring environment. Teachers monitor students to ensure that they are happy, relaxed and accepted by others in their class. Should difficulties arise with students, they will receive on-going counseling to help resolve any problem, whether academic, social, behavioural or emotional.

Class Structure

Our classes run from Monday to Friday (or Thursday for 20 hour course) from 9.00am until 3.20pm. There are three lessons each day, with a 20 minute break between lesson 1 and 2, and an hour lunch break between lessons 2 and 3.
When students start their course on a Monday morning they undertake a placement test and take part in an interview. Based on the results of these, students are placed in the most appropriate level for their grasp of English. We estimate students take between 8 to 12 weeks to go up a level.
