Primary School Preparation (PSP)
What is PSP? | At Ability Education we have developed a primary level course suited to younger children. The Primary School Preparation program, or PSP as it has come to be known in the industry, is designed to meet the needs of primary school level overseas students who wish to visit Australia during their school holiday periods to improve their English language skills. The PSP course is therefore seasonal and typically runs between the months of December to March and June to August. Students attending this course are usually visiting Australia on tourist visas and, as such, their period of study ranges from 4 to 12 weeks duration. |
Why our Primary School Preparation? | Our PSP course does not only involve intensive English tuition at the level of the 7-11 year old child. We use the same philosophy in our PSP curriculum design that we use with our High School Preparation program. The PSP syllabus encompasses a range Subject areas that children will encounter, both in the Australian primary school system and also in their native countries including science and environmental studies, mathematics, social studies, Australian studies, and geography. For our younger students attending the PSP program at Ability Education , is particularly important for us that students feel cared for, highly valued and part of the ‘Ability family’. Our PSP student s always receive that ‘special attention’ that younger kids demand of their teachers. Classroom work is supported by a range of weekly excursions including visits to Taronga Zoo, Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife World, the Maritime Museum and Sydney tower. Friday afternoons is Sports Time when students go to the local park for a range of sporting activities |
