Support Staff

Central to Ability Education’s school philosophy is that students should feel comfortable and relaxed when practising their English language skills. Research has shown that students who enjoy what they are doing, will learn more easily and more quickly.

Because students coming to study in Australia are often away from their family overseas for the first time, we understand that – although they see it as a big adventure – they may also be a little fearful and could become lonely or homesick. So, we make Ability Education a home-away-from-home. We are keen to make you feel welcome in our city and at your school.

We know that we can help you to make your dreams about travel and study come true. Importantly, we can help provide you with knowledge and skills to prepare you for a successful future.

Ability Education’s staff includes people who speak a wide range of languages, which currently includes Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Polish, Czech, Croatian and Mandarin.

Comments: Gemma personally meets with every new student on their first day so they know that there is always someone here to help them no matter how small or big is the problem. She also organises great excursions and student activities.

Ikuyo Yokomizo

Comments: For many students, Ikuyo is the first person they meet at Ability. Her kind and helpful nature assists students feel very much at home straight away. She assists students with general information, bank accounts, student cards etc.

Fiona Davidson

Comments: Fiona’s background includes both marketing and English teaching. Fiona has travelled extensively through Central and South America (as well as the rest of the world).

Michelle Hahn

Comments: Michelle has enjoyed a very colourful life, living all over the world – from the Seychelles, to Germany, to Mexico. Michelle speaks fluent German, Spanish, Creole and Swahili. Her warm heart and positive attitude helps the most homesick student relax. You can hear her laugh throughout the school.

Comments: Ally first came to Australia 4 years ago as a student. She came to Australia for a working holiday after spending a year in the States. Ally fell in love with the country and decided to stay. She studied TESOL and hospitality management. Ally began her career in International education over a year ago and thoroughly enjoys helping other students on the journey she started 5 years ago.

Kinya Yumoto

Comments: Kinya has a great deal of experience in working in international education in Japan. He worked for 12 years with GIO one of the largest student agencies in Japan. His extensive experience as a counsellor stands him good ground to help both students and agents alike.

Comments: Cigdem came to ABILTY Education as a student from Istanbul. She then worked with us as an intern and now we can’t get by without her. She is extremely kind and helpful to all the students (not only the Turkish students). She is also our extremely efficient at supervising the admissions team.
